Tal R

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1967 and moved to Denmark with his family when he was one year old. R is an internationally-acclaimed Israeli-Danish artist, currently living and working in Copenhagen.

His self-identification as an outsider, caught between two worlds, fueled a fertile artistic landscape of shifting realities.
Working with a variety of media such as collage, sculpture, installation, and painting to depict subject matters that are intentionally easy to describe, R’s meaning of work is enigmatic and often left to the viewer’s personal interpretation.
R uses vivid colorfulness as he combines abstract sceneries with nude female figures and geometric shapes. His artworks are abundant with references to history and art history: from Expressionism, Fauvism, Symbolism, traditional Scandinavian art, and Art Nouveau, to children’s art.

R has participated in countless amount of solo and group exhibitions, and is represented by leading galleries in Europe and the U.S.A
