Born in 1981, Iva Kafri currently lives and works in Tel Aviv.
Using a variety of materials, such as wallpaper, spray and acrylic paint, paper, and Plexiglas, she creates abstract paintings as well as installations, in which she dismantles the visual and compositional elements of painting into colorful and disorienting environments. Kafri is a graduate of the MFA program at Ecole Nationale Superieure de Beaux Arts de Paris.
Kafri was awarded the prestigious Rappaport Prize for a Young Artist from the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in 2013. She showed a large solo exhibition at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, where her work is included in the museum's collection. Her work has been widely exhibited in venues such as Petach Tikva Museum of Art, Haifa Museum of Art, the 1st Herzliya Biennial of Contemporary Art, La Générale en Manufacture in Sèvres, France, Vault and Tape Modern in Berlin, and Tilton Gallery in New York.
